Personal Bio
Dr. Popa joined the Alta Vista Animal Hospital team in 2011. She previously worked in the Brockville area as a small animal veterinarian. She is a native of Bucharest, Romania, but has lived in Toronto, Guelph and Brockville over the past 15 years.
Maria graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Romania in 1994 and obtained her Master of Science from the University of Guelph in 1999. She graduated from the Veterinary Skills Training & Enhancement Program at Ontario Veterinary College in 2006.
Away from the clinic, Maria spends much of her time in the company of her three children; Andrei, Alex and Ana-Maria, as well as their many pets. Maria’s family enjoys the company of a miniature Dachshund, a Mioritic Shepherd, and 2 cats adopted from the Humane Society. When time permits, Maria can be found gardening or spending a quiet moment with a good book.
