Personal Bio

Allison joined the Alta Vista/Bayview team in July 2008 and is honoured to be entrusted the care of clients' furry family members. Dr. Peckham enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but is especially keen about soft tissue surgery, critical care, dentistry, and preventative medicine.

Dr. Peckham is the proud mom of Vinyl Warhol, her miniature smooth dachshund, who is usually appropriately accessorized for any occasion. She is also a loving sister to her parents' Miniature Dachshund Vena and a doting aunt to Pugs Winnifred and Frederick - all of whom live in California. When not working, she fills her play time with friends and family, travel, the arts (as both performer and patron), the great outdoors, accessorizing and keeping fit.

Professional Bio

  • BSc, Environment - Biodiversity and Conservation, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, 2002
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine & Surgery, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland, 2008

Dr. Peckham returned to her hometown after years of study in Montreal and overseas. A graduate of McGill's School of Environment in 2002, Dr. Peckham worked at the Canadian Museum of Nature as an educator before furthering her academic pursuits at the University of Glasgow, alma mater of the famed veterinarian James Herriot. Her varied experiences overseas as part of the Glasgow Vet School included placements in the US, Ireland and the United Kingdom, where she dealt with all creatures great and small.

Dr. Peckham's work experience at the Alta Vista Animal Hospital during an externship cultivated an interest to launch her career there, and was overjoyed to receive the opportunity following the completion of her veterinary credentials in 2008. Now in her self-described dream job, she is "privileged to be part of such an amazing team of compassionate, dedicated and clever people". Dr. Peckham is a member of the Ontario Veterinary College, the British Small Animal Veterinary Association and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
